Annyeonghaseyo! This is the custom of saying greetings in Korean – well, correct me if I am wrong because there is another phrase annyeong, though. You know, I am getting addicted to Korean cuisine included its pat (re: red bean in Korean language) dessert along with various kinds of sweet ingredients you can find since when. Luckily, at Alam Sutera is there a Korean dessert culinary spot above Seorae restaurant that never sleeps.
While going up, you will find its bar-like concept just like going to the night club – never expect any beer or alcoholic beverages in here. When looking above, you will also notice a road direction in South Korea – don’t you feel like being in Korea for a couple of minutes? Gawking at the menu, all I think about is the tantalizing, mouth-drooling and sweet! No wonder if oppas (Korean typical man, usually slightly older than your age) are in love with this dessert, included Indonesians. After spending a couple of minutes, eventually I come up with these menus.
Matcha or green tea cannot be separated if having dessert menu whenever and wherever you are. So, this is it! Matcha ice cream along with vanilla sprinkles at the top, followed by red bean, corn flakes and shaved ice beneath inside a cute-blackish bowl. Besides, small glass of condensed milk is put next to it to enhance the taste. Before having it, you had better pour the condensed milk to the ice cream, and then mixing it up to feel the sensation. You will sense a combination between green tea, vanilla essence, red bean and corn flakes. Incredibly uh-mazing! Just like having a breakfast you wish you could have it every single day.
Another epic creation involving caramel pop corn and caramel sauce within the same main ingredients (red bean and shaved ice). The color is perfectly light brown, and the smell is also great! I think that this is one of the top recommended menus as even PSY likes having it before showtime – Oops, I am just kidding but also hoping that I find it so true, folks. Well, I wish I could have this while watching movies on cinema :(. Worth a try, seriously!
I think this menu is inspired by Finding Nemo movie as you can spot the taiyaki type of fish put at the top of red bean ice cream adorned with congealed chocolate milk. For the presentation, I should say it is absolutely instagrammable. The taste? Definitely sweet and fresh. However, the more you eat, the more you will feel your belly extremely full as it is all about red bean or pat in Korean.
So, here are the ratings based on what I eat.
- Taste: 90 / 100
- Price: 85 / 100
- Service: 85 / 100
- Food Presentation: 90 / 100
- Ambiance: 90 / 100
For each dessert menu, it is worth IDR 35,000,-. Actually, it has several appetizer or main course menus. However, this cafe is well-recognized for its signature dessert menus instead of the other menus – well, that is the drawback. I should say, it is recommended for you to spend your lovely weekend going here.
