Mie Kangkung – UPH Bazaar Week

After having mixed-rice dish, we are having another attempt of trying mie kangkung, a noodle signature dish coming from the capital city of Indonesia, exactly from Betawi. What makes it unique is the presence of kangkung vegetable or called water spinach as the companion. Besides, its brown-colored thick soup is made of chicken or beef broth along with sweet soy sauce. At the end, it is added with a dash of kaffir lime, bean sprouts and fried shallots to make it more appetizing. Aren’t you drooling away now, folks?

We are also amazed by the texture of the noodle itself as it is from egg, giving a distinctive feature of the dish. While having it during lunch, the taste of the broth suddenly hypnotizes us for seconds, making us speechless and have no idea how to describe its incredibly-extraordinary aroma. It is slightly sweet, but it is still tolerable for us. From the real picture itself, it turns out 80% the same just like the poster.

Jump directly to the point, these are numbers popping up inside our heads.

  • Taste: 5 out of 5
  • Price: 4 out of 5
  • Product Satisfaction: 5 out of 5

Only IDR 20,000,-, you can simply enjoy this lovely water spinach noodle during the pouring rain as it can warm your body and increase your appetite. Its cost is quite affordable for students, so no wonder if you see this stall is full of humans.
